Trócaire’s Programmes Team provides technical advice and support to country programmes and partners and to the wider organisation towards implementing Trócaire’s organisational strategy (2021-2025), ‘Local Power, Global Justice’ The programmes team sits in the Global Programmes Unit within the International Division.
It is Trócaire’s ambition to support the protection and empowerment of the most vulnerable rights-holders and their defenders in areas of justice and peace, civil society space and access to and control of natural resources.
The Programmes Team support Country Offices and Partners globally to deliver coherent impactful programmes, through promoting learning and innovation, and providing high-quality technical assistance, which enables positive changes in the lives of the communities and women and men we serve. The Governance Advisor will play a lead role in the development and implementation of programming related to enabling structural reform, enabling and protecting civil society space (CSS) and integrating Trócaire’s citizen monitoring and advocacy (CMA) approach. The role will lead on providing technical support to country offices and partners, identifying and initiating research opportunities and promoting innovation within our work, to further deepen our learning and expertise.
Reporting to Head of Programmes, this is a fixed term contract (1 year) with travel to programme locations when required and appropriate and is based in Maynooth, with frequent travel.
This role will sit in the Programmes Team, collaborating primarily with the Human Rights Advisor, as well as others in the team: the Sustainable Agriculture Advisor, Women’s Empowerment amp; GBV Advisors, the different Heads of Portfolios particularly Human Rights- and other organisational units (Policy amp; Advocacy, Programme Impact amp; Learning; Humanitarian, GPFU and the Localisation and Partnership Hub).
