The Group Head of Projects will play a key role in driving the delivery of first-class engineering outputs across a range of structural, mechanical, and electrical projects within Ireland and the UK.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role will have 4 direct reports

There will be significant travel required with this role

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the Head of Group Engineering to develop short-term and long-term objectives and related plans for the Group Engineering function both strategic and operational.
• Work with the Head of Group Engineering and the team as appropriate to arrive at the business action plan for the Group Engineering function on an annual basis and submit same for approval to the Head of Group Finance.
• Responsible for driving the delivery of the annual agreed business plan and the associated initiatives therein.
• Assume responsibility for day-to-day operational matters including but not limited to overseeing project management, commercial management, people management, contractor management and resourcing across the Group Engineering function both in IRL and UK.
• Oversee project delivery across the various structural, mechanical and electrical projects with particular emphasis on project delivery within Ireland monitoring execution against scope, schedule, cost, quality objectives.
• Take responsibility for commercial management across Group.
• Engineering to include estimating, forecasting and budgeting. Drive innovation with particular emphasis on best-in-class engineering, energy, robotics, and automation.
• Ensure Group Engineering’s compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
• Foster and manage a culture of continuous improvement through value engineering processes.

ROLE DELIVERABLES

• A clear strategy for the management and care of projects within the Group
• Cost control to budget, with short and long term corrective actions if required
• Availability of the necessary personnel, financial and material resources for the project functions
• Delivery of the annual capital expenditure within budget
• Regular and clear communication on project progress to all stakeholders

Requirements

• A relevant level 8 engineering degree. A masters agree or equivalent would be

advantageous.

• 10 years+ engineering experience to include significant track record in project delivery

across one or more of the following disciplines: structural engineering, mechanical

engineering, or electrical engineering.

• Knowledge and experience in areas such as energy, robotics and automatic.

• Leadership capabilities including the ability to initiate, direct and review projects

together with the proven ability to energise, motivate and build trust.

• Management experience at an appropriate level, including establishing, leading and managing large teams and resource.
