Director of International Finance

WHAT WE NEED

An experienced Finance Leader to oversee the finance and accounting function of a fast-growing music technology company, passionate about protecting the value of music. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the VP of Finance and Global Controller, the role assumes ownership, responsibility, and accountability for efficient and effective financial leadership of ORFIUM’s international (ex-US) business with a particular focus on capital allocation planning, performance measurement, compliance, data integrity and the timely and accurate reporting (internal and external) of relevant financial information. This role will support the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company.

This role will supervise ORFIUM’s international accounting and finance teams and provide financial oversight over the activities of all managers and employees located outside of the US.

Day to Day

• Working with the CFO/Board on financial strategy, fundraising, investment decisions, treasury operations, international tax matters, reporting and providing feedback on the performance of international (ex-US) business, and supporting external audits.
• Supporting the VP of Finance on budgeting, planning, and analysis, including with respect to annual budgets (AOP) and forecast models for rolling monthly updated forecasts (LBE), forecasting short-term and medium-term cash flow requirements, and capital budgeting (NPV and ROI) analysis.
• Supporting the Global Controller on accounting, overhead cost allocations, performance measurement, and reporting.
• Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency, identify risks, and provide recommendations on cost savings.
• Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting and finance functions and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Work with leaders within the company to understand key performance indicators within each business segment and department.
• Supervision of Ramp;D investment decisions and capitalization schedules.
• Analyse financial data and create reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders.
• Implement effective and timely reporting systems and data presentation using automation where possible.
• Plan and execute upgrades of accounting systems to cater for planned growth.
• Make recommendations on how to improve the accuracy of the revenue forecast and create new models to predict the future performance of the company.
• Work with the business intelligence and marketing departments to report on the total addressable market of current and potential revenue streams and analyse our current market share and potential market penetration of new markets.
• Analyse monthly customer earnings and the impact the Company’s activities had on those earnings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with debt and equity funders, as required.
• Ensuring that all finance related processes align with relevant financial/accounting/tax laws.
• Keeping informed about the latest industry developments affecting the business.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong academics, Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and CPA, ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ prior experience in a financial leadership role in a high-growth SME.
• Experience of working with financial, statistical, and data analytics software with knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and data mining tools such as Quickbooks, Sage Intacct, Adaptive Planning, Excel, and Power BI or Tableau
