Background

Davy Real Estate (DRE) is one of the leading commercial property investors in Ireland. As at 30th September 2022 the team manages a broad portfolio of Irish property assets valued at 2 bn. These assets are primarily split across a small number of mandates DRE has with large and sophisticated domestic and foreign investors. DRE sources new investments for our clients and manages all aspects of those assets throughout the investment cycle. The Finance Manager role is a very important element of this as we provide detailed quarterly financial reports to investors, have annual audit and filing obligations as well as ad hoc reporting and other finance related projects.


The role

DRE uses Yardi as a property management and financial reporting system.

The role of the Finance Manager will be to manage the quarterly reporting with one of DRE’s largest clients. Financial reporting is maintained on YARDI. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team to maintain up to date accurate information on the YARDI system, preparing quarterly management accounts, ensuring data is accurately input on an ongoing basis and to generate reports for asset managers and clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of YARDI financial reporting system.
  • Working with the investment management team to ensure tenancy schedules are input to YARDI and reconcile rent balances to property agent reports.
  • Monitoring outputs to ensure they are accurate and user friendly.
  • Development of a suite of standard reports that are useful to both asset managers and clients. Examples would include up to date debtor schedules, asset registers, ad hoc trial balances etc.
  • Feeding into the quarterly management accounts and detailed reports for circulation to investors.
  • Preparation of Limited Partnership and General Partner Financial Statements.
  • Preparation of VAT data for underlying investor VAT returns.
  • Generation of reports for use in the annual audit process.
  • Comply with the Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures associated with the role.

Requirements

  • Qualified chartered accountant or equivalent.
  • Experience in using YARDI and/or other property management and financial reporting tools an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Strong business acumen, demonstrable interest and understanding of investments and financial markets.
  • Understanding of property holding structures to include tax and financial reporting issues an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and how it applies to Irish entities.
  • Excellent information technology capability, including a high level of competence in Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills will be required to present and explain quarterly reports to entity directors, sophisticated investors and their advisers.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workflows according to priorities.
