Purpose of Role:
To support effective group facilitation at AONTAS events, including the National Further Education and Training (FET) Learner Forums
Description
AONTAS is the Irish National Adult Learning Organisation, a membership organisation representing adult education educators, providers, learners, and other stakeholders. AONTAS is committed to advocating for the right of all adults in Ireland to access quality adult learning opportunities throughout their lives. We promote the value and benefits of lifelong learning. We support adult learners, particularly those most educationally disadvantaged, to engage in lifelong learning. And we advocate for more inclusive and accessible national education policy. AONTAS achieves these aims through research, communications and advocacy. Our work is aimed at working towards an inclusive, learner-centred lifelong learning system that enables adults to have a transformative learning experience.
Our Vision: For all adults to achieve their educational aspirations through an equitable lifelong learning system.
Our Mission: To advocate for the right of all adults in Ireland to quality learning throughout their lives, and to promote the value and benefits of lifelong learning.
AONTAS ensure the delivery of the National FET Learner Forum. This includes a series of events taking place across Ireland, which facilitate adult learners to share their experiences of learning. This is the basis of our advocacy work and is used to ensure Further Education and Training policy is responding to the needs of the learners themselves. AONTAS facilitators help us to listen to the voices of adult learners across Ireland, through in-depth focus group discussions.
AONTAS is seeking to increase our panel of facilitators who provide services to support effective group facilitation/ focus group discussion at AONTAS’ National Further Education and Training (FET) Learner Forum events nationally.
