What role is available?
Contract: Fixed term full time (4 months)
Start Date: Feb 2023
Location: Remote work in Ireland (Republic) with possibility of onsite work in our Limerick office
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Client Policy Associate will assist in the provision of day-to-day support for Glass Lewis clients who vote according to their own custom voting policies, as well as assisting in the implementation of and support of custom voting policies for new clients.
Policy Team Research Associates (RAs) will work with in conjunction with Glass Lewis’ research teams to analyse the outcomes of independent research (Proxy Papers) to ensure that clients’ policies are being applied correctly. This will be achieved by:
1. Reviewing client proxy papers to ensure that the applicable custom voting policy is applied correctly to all agenda items against pressing vote cutoff dates;
2. Liaise with research team regarding policy implementations and meeting-specific questions
· Analysing information with regards to corporate governance and remuneration data;
· Contribute to other areas and duties of the policy team as necessary
RA positions are separated into three areas of focus:
Policy: in conjunction with clients, create and implement client custom voting policy and throughout the year would audit all of the meetings that research produce, such that the clients wishes are executed the way they wish them to be voted
Remuneration: covers meeting proposals for executive pay practices, incentive plans, pay-for-performance, etc.
Governance: covers meeting proposals for board of director elections, committee memberships, environmental and social issues, skills matrices, auditor appointments, etc.
Requirements
Who is the ideal candidate?
Qualifications:
A degree in Business, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Languages or other related field of studies.
Languages:
· Excellent English reading and writing skills
Competences:
· This position is particularly relevant to candidates wishing to pursue careers in economics, financial services, accounting, compliance, corporate law, governance and public policy
· Strong analytical skills
· Task and time management skills
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst paying attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team; personable
· IT skills; proficiency in MS Office, Excel and online research tools
· Experience in qualitative research or corporate governance is considered an advantage.
