Job Description

Ensure compliance with the quality management systems, policies, procedures, and protocols.

Enhance customer relationships by improving quality performance across key indicators.

Collect and compile statistical quality data.

Drive a strong Culture of continuous improvement from both a quality and food safety perspective.

Develop and maintain a positive, proactive relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for document management systems.

Review and develop new quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure the business QMS is best of class.

Management of complaints and the complaints process.

Management of Supplier non-conformances- Raising, follow up and closeout. Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventative actions.

Inspect materials and products to ensure quality and compliance with the finished product specification.

Prepare data reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities to the business (internal audits, complaints and NC, changes in policies, SOPs, COPs, etc.)

Identify training needs, and organise and deliver training to meet quality standards.

Support on-site audits conducted internally and externally and support evaluating audit findings and implementing appropriate corrective actions.

Carry out scheduled traceability exercises with customers and suppliers.

Be an integral part of the HACCP and TACCP team.

Provide Technical Support to NPD and EPD projects.

Manage positive release of products from suppliers and product hold and release in the coldstore, ensuring the product is released on time to fulfil customer orders.

Provide Technical support to the sales team and customers when required (new line forms, sample prep, etc.)

Review, Update and Completion of product specifications and artwork for new and existing products.

Manage supplier testing scheduled per Kepak Manufacturing Standard, ensuring that all suppliers carry out the relevant tests when due.

Internal Auditor: Conduct and document internal audits and other quality assurance activities.

Support the Technical Manager in any technical functions.

Requirements

Food Science/Food Technology qualification would be a distinct advantage but not essential if experience demonstrates your capabilities and skills in the Food Industry.

Certifications in the following areas are an advantage; Internal Auditing, Train the Trainer, HACCP, and TACCP.

A strong technical and quality background and knowledge of Industry Food Standards, i.e., GFSI (BRC, IFS, ISO), Customer Codes of Practice.

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job or equivalent combination of education, training, amp; experience in the Food Manufacturing environment.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workloads based on changing priorities to meet business needs.

Self-starter and self-motivated; organised with good attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
