We have an exciting opportunity for a DON for a leading provider of care.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and support to Staff Nurses and Health Care Assistants in the direct provision of care
- Ensure the delivery of the highest standard of nursing care
- Develop policies, programmes and evidence-based practice consistent with standards (HIQA) and seeking at all times to deliver a standard that is considered best practice.
Requirements
- Nursing qualification and registration with NMBI
- At least 2 years experience in a nursing management environment, specifically in care of the elderly
- Post graduate management qualification
- Detailed knowledge if HIQA standards, regulations and the 'Health Act 2007'
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge and clinical nursing practice together with future trends in care of older persons
- Shows an understanding of current legislative policies pertinent to care of the older persons
