Job Description
Provision of a professional health amp; safety service and to provide competent professional health and safety advice
Undertake workplace inspections to; identify hazards, determine ways of reducing risks, ensure adherence to risk assessment and best practice.
Participate in the company audit program including the management of corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and cases of ill health to identify root cause and ensure suitable and sufficient corrective and preventative action is captured in line with company system process.
Represent department/site as required at committees / meetings providing relevant input and maximising shared learning opportunities.
Ensure that Safe Systems of Work are developed and implemented for all activities, through risk assessment and operating procedures.
Manage the local audit and inspection program to ensure effectiveness and compliance to the ESH Management System
Provide regular information/training to workforce on safety-related topics
Conduct and review risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
Conduct, review and create instructions related to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Record and investigate incidents to determine root causes
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
Reviewing and inspecting all facility sub-contract works
Ensure the company meets all fire safety legislative requirements
Ensure the company meets all Waste Management legislative requirements
Ensure the company meets all First Aid legislative requirements
Requirements
- Proven ESH experience in a similar role preferably from a high-risk environment
- Knowledge of ESH standards/legislation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven record on data analysis and reporting statistics
- Effective Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
