Job Description

JOB TITLE: Environmental Assistant Ballybay amp; Poppintree

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reporting to Ballybay Health and Safety Manager.

JOB PURPOSE:

To maintain and support the Environmental amp; Health and Safety operations across the 2 sites. Identify areas for improvement in regards to environmental aspects in order to achieve group and external environmental targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monthly, Quarterly, and annual environmental data submissions
    • Environmental Protection Agency, Origin Green, Repak, Irish Water, Meter Readings etc.
  • Liaise with the Environmental Protection Agency on environmental issues
  • Support Hamp;S Function as required
  • Act as site contact for all external environmental queries
  • Deal with environmental complaints from Environment Protection Agency, Local Council and Residents
  • Monitor, present and improve site Environmental data and targets
  • Customer Packaging data requests
  • Support commercial in aligning customer environmental targets
  • Implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management System documents and procedures
  • Auditing of Internal procedures
  • Influence in Internal and group sustainability Projects (Meetings,Data Requests, Presentations)
  • Support in the Environmental function of the HSamp;E teams

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Desirable: Knowledge of ISO14001
  • Outstanding communication skills are essential to enable effective communication to different levels of management
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Confidence to challenge current working practices and identify a range of solutions, escalating issues to senior management where necessary
  • Some experience working in an assessors role is preferred
  • Understand the environmental challenges that the business currently faces
  • Basic Microsoft Office Skills
  • Full Driving License is Essential
