About the RoleAs the Head of Finance, you will have responsibility for the entity’s planning, budgeting and management control as well as accounting and treasury administration and other relevant regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fintech or exchange trading environment, with a deep understanding of the trading cycle of crypto assets. An understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to regulated financial firms in Europe is strongly preferred, such as those governing activities under the E-Money Regulations and Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).
This role is based in Dublin.Responsibilities
- Management and oversight of the Firm’s finance and administration activities, including potential to hold the ‘Pre-approval Control Function’ (‘PCF’) role PCF-11;
- Establishment and maintenance of processes and procedures in respect of the Firm’s finance and administration activities;
- Preparation of Budget and related forecasting;
- Monitoring of Budget and analysis of monthly variance and re-forecast;
- Monitoring and economic-management control of the initiatives undertaken and activities provided, including by reporting anomalies or deviations from approved standards;
- Calculation of performance and capital adequacy indicators and preparation of related reports;
- Preparation of periodic company management reports and financial statements, including accounting statements and explanatory notes
- Ensuring the correct application of accounting principles
- Ensuring the correct book-keeping, VAT, customers and suppliers
- Ensuring the performance of all tax compliance obligations
- Ensuring correct keeping of mandatory accounting books
- Assisting the Board and the auditing firm in the related controls
- Liaising with the Finance Group function in order to ensure coherent approach and reports are produced for internal and external consumption.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance / Accounting and ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
- Substantive experience (5+ years) of leading a finance function
- Awareness of the main principles of regulated financial instruments ecosystems in terms of industry, regulation and business applicable requirements
- Experience of managing statutory accounting returns
- Experience of management of corporate taxation affairs
