About us

The CoderDojo Foundation is an Irish educational charity that works to give every child the opportunity to learn how to code and create with technology. We do this by supporting a global volunteer-led movement of over 2000 free computing clubs called CoderDojos. Founded in Ireland in July 2011, the CoderDojo Foundation joined forces with the Raspberry Pi Foundation in 2017 and is now part of the world’s largest networks of free computing clubs for young people.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer the Raspberry Pi Foundation has developed education programmes and products that are helping millions of people learn new knowledge and skills. The Raspberry Pi Foundation supports two networks of coding clubs: CoderDojo, which is primarily a community-based programme, and Code Club, which is primarily an after-school programme. The programmes are complementary and together form the world’s largest network of free computing clubs for young people. This network reaches hundreds of thousands of young people each week, supported by an incredible community of tens of thousands of volunteers and educators in over 100 countries.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, work, and impact in our 2020 Annual Review.

The role

Like all in-person activities, CoderDojo has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions that have been put in place to limit its spread. We are working hard to support Dojos to run online activities while in-person meetings aren’t possible, and we are preparing for a return to safe in-person club activities as restrictions are lifted. In a world where digital skills are even more important and where so many young people have missed out on opportunities to learn them, CoderDojo has a critical role to play.

Reporting to the Head of CoderDojo, the CoderDojo Community Coordinator (Support amp; Communications) will be responsible for providing high-quality support and communications to new and existing Dojo volunteers. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with a broad range of volunteers, and will understand the importance of providing effective support and messaging. You will be a driven and efficient community coordinator, capable and confident using a range of digital tools, ideally including Salesforce Service Cloud and Pardot. You will have an agile attitude to work, and you'll be ready to try new approaches, evaluate, and iterate.

You don’t need to be an expert in computing or digital making, but you do need to bring a passion for our mission and a willingness to learn. Previous involvement with the CoderDojo movement would be a significant advantage.

We strive to make the Raspberry Pi Foundation a place where talented people from all backgrounds can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we will make it work for you.
