Job Description

About LRN

LRN’s mission is to inspire principled performance. Since 1994, LRN has helped over 25 million people at more than 700 companies worldwide simultaneously navigate complex legal and regulatory environments and make ethical decisions with its vast, SaaS-based education and technology platform. Since acquiring Interactive Services in September 2020, LRN has advanced its investment in people, innovation, and technology offering a winning combination of practical tools, hundreds of courses, and strategic advice to partners in over 100 countries.

As our Learning Manager, you will be designing training solutions for our Partners, who are represented by some of the largest brands in the world. You will meet with the Partner, either virtually or in person, visiting them at their offices to find out their business needs. You will attend a Design Workshop where you will deliver exciting ideas that will have the greatest impact on the learners; a 20 minute e-learning course, an interactive workbook, a game, an animated sequence, an acted drama or a combination of ALL these things. Then you will guide a team of Graphic Designers, Programmers and Instructional Designers through the project to ensure that training solution is creative, captivating, modern and will create a measurable change in the organization.

Location: Home-based office in the UK or Ireland

Contract: Fixed term 6-12 months with potential to progress to a permanent position

Our Learning Manager will be someone who:

  • Is creative and thinks outside of the box.
  • Will constantly push the team to do things better, but in a way that’s collaborative, not dictatorial
  • Has strong and versatile creative writing skills. Although an instructional designer would usually do the bulk of the writing, you need know how to write for e-learning, animations, drama, printed materials, and so on and be prepared to develop some of these yourself.
  • Has strong views about how best to communicate information to a diverse audience.
  • Is able to run a creative meeting and keep it on-track whether that’s with two or twenty people.
  • Will mentor our instructional designers in a way that helps them feel energized.
  • Can design for multiple delivery methods (HTML5, Storyline, Articulate Rise, PDF, Word, PPT, etc). You don’t need to be an expert in these tools, just to help others get the best out of them.
  • Has an eye for good visual design (you don’t need Photoshop skills, but you do need to be able to provide feedback to Graphic Designers)

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Instructional Design, or other creative field
  • BA or equivalent experience
  • Experience of Creative Writing
