Job Description

The Building Control/ BCAR Project Coordinator is responsible for providing support to our Project Teams to help ensure that all phases of the construction process are coordinated and completed to the satisfaction of both our Design Teams and Building Control.

Requirements

  • Coordinate all project BCAR related documentation with assigned certifier, design teams and subcontractors
  • Coordinate commencement notices, completion certificates and other relevant communication in relation to the validation of BCAR certificates
  • Attend and facilitate Project BCAR Prestart Meetings with Design Team and Project Teams
  • Review Design Team Inspection Plans and ensure all relevant hold and witness points are communicated to Site Management and Subcontractors
  • Identify, agree and create all subcontractor ancillary certificates for various stages of the project with the Design Team
  • Review and coordinate BCAR tracking documentation for various phases of the project
  • Liaise and agree with document control the list of Project specific placeholders for upload to the document management system
  • Update BCAR tracking documents as works progress and are closed out
  • Review and coordinate all material test reports in conjunction with Structural Engineer and Site Engineer, ensuring all non-conformances are identified and closed out to the satisfaction of the Structural Engineer and Contracts Manager in a timely manner.


Experience and skills needed

  • Must have a third level qualification in a technical discipline - Construction/ Civil Engineering /Building Surveying or other related area
  • Relevant experience in a in civil engineering or construction role
  • Full understanding of Building Control Regulations and Code of Practice
  • Full understanding of construction sequence of works
  • Technically strong with excellent communication skills
  • Full valid driving license is required
  • Residential construction experience an advantage but not essential
