The Fundraising and Marketing Division in Trócaire is responsible for raising income from the public in Ireland, recruiting new supporters to our work, increasing loyalty from existing supporters, and increasing awareness and relevance of Trócaire’s brand.

The Direct Marketing Officer will plan and implement strategic multi-channel direct response fundraising programs which will help to maximise the number and value of donors and donations. A central focus of the role is the development and deployment of direct mail appeals and donor newsletters, an area that has seen income growth of over 700% in the past five years. The individual in this role will use advanced non-profit fundraising knowledge, analytical expertise and proven experience developing comprehensive, highly integrated marketing strategies to deliver significant, sustained results across digital and offline channels. They will also create and implement donor journeys to maximise recruitment, second-gift rate, retention and donor LTV.

Reporting to the Head of Donor Marketing, and is based in Maynooth[1] with flexible working arrangements and a mix of work from home and work in office. This is a Specified Purpose Contract maternity cover (estimated 8-months) contract starting September 2021.

Key Duties amp; Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive multi-channel retention strategy to increase LTV of existing donors
  • Secure background information, stories and imagery, and develop campaign content for direct mail, email, social media and website
  • Implement a comprehensive multi-channel acquisition strategy to maximise the number of new donors acquired
  • Increase donor engagement, value and retention rates through excellent supporter stewardship and the refinement and implementation of supporter journeys for our various audience segments
  • Track Trócaire’s supporter trends among key segments, in particular the Direct Adult segment, and identify factors driving giving trends through mining the database and analysing donor behaviour
  • Data-led decision making, timely reporting and campaign analysis.
  • Rigorously managing the campaign budget, including income and expenditure targets
  • Forge excellent relationships with key stakeholders across internal teams, such as international, communications, digital marketing, data analytics, campaigns and donor care
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships with a range of key external partners, including direct marketing agencies, designers and print production companies; and motivating and inspiring them to deliver their best for Trócaire
