Job Description

Cloudsmith is looking for a Head of People to join our leadership team.

As the first HR hire, the Head of People plays a pivotal role in our ambitious growth plan. It will be responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining great people within our business. As a distributed team, you’ll help us grow our teams within North America, EMEA, and beyond.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will strategically partner with the leadership team to develop the tools, process, and employee experience to continually evolve our culture- taking our team and culture to the next level and elevating the Cloudsmith employee experience at each new phase of growth and change.

Requirements

  • Serve as HR lead and manage the day to day operations of the HR department, including but not limited to payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and people analytics
  • Work with the executive team, leaders, and employees to develop HR guidance and direction to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention;
  • Lead compensation planning, including scaling our compensation model and leveling, managing performance increases.
  • Scale policy development, training delivery, and workforce design and planning.
  • Develop HR initiatives and programs that align with Cloudsmith’s goals and values
  • Develop and implement proactive Employee Relations strategies that preserve a productive, passionate, and engaging environment
  • Lead the evaluation, adoption, and implementation of scalable tools and systems
  • Assess organizational health and effectiveness, and identify opportunities to create improvements and efficiencies
  • Provide performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, corrective actions)
  • Design and Build HR policy, guidance, and direction
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Work with leadership to build the company’s competitive advantage by establishing a strong employer brand to attract and acquire the best talent in the market.

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Human Resources related leadership roles with a proven track record as a Head of People/Lead People Partner or equivalent.
  • You participated in building up a hyper-growth start-up organization, preferably from early stage to IPO and beyond, in a tech environment

  • You know how to attract and recruit top talents and how to build and execute a successful recruitment pipeline.
  • You have designed, introduced, optimized, and lead scalable People and Culture processes and successfully introduced best people practices throughout all organizations.
  • You can present a successful track record of building a high-performance culture.
  • You value building trust throughout the company and care deeply about creating positive employee and candidate experiences.
  • You have experience in setting up or maintaining a healthy distributed workforce across time zones.
  • You have strong leadership skills and inspire others to be better leaders each day
  • You have exemplary time management skills, and you know that details matter.
  • You’re willing to get stuck in and help shape the culture and rituals, but equally, you’re adaptable and open to change (as the business grows).
  • You have extensive experience in an agile working environment and are an advocate of introducing agile practices for all teams.
  • You have proven experience guiding large teams and people leaders through transformations and everyday challenges, preferably within a fast-growing tech environment.
  • Prior startup/tech experience required.


The Location

  • Work remotely within EMEA.
