The Role

The Urban Planner is responsible for delivering hands-on advice and management of everything involved in planning applications for large-scale residential and mixed-use development. The Project Planner will liaise with planning officials and advise the business on planning policy and regulation, ensuring that compliance is met.


Your main duties

  • Manage the planning process for large scale residential and mixed-use developments ensuring that developments satisfy relevant planning requirements.
  • Participate in, and lead stakeholder engagement with statutory bodies such as An Bord Pleanala, Local Authorities, Irish Water and other prescribed bodies.
  • Prepare and manage Planning Assessments, Planning Reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Further Information Responses
  • Liaising with internal departments throughout a project’s lifespan, including the Construction and Technical, Sales and Marketing, and Finance departments.
  • Provide environmental management / consultancy support for regulated facilities
  • Prepare of environmental regulatory applications and licence compliance reports, where applicable
  • Prepare and review planning appraisals to assess development potential pre-acquisition
  • Liaise with internal departments throughout a project’s lifespan, including the Construction and Technical, Sales and Marketing, and Finance departments.
  • Monitor emerging local and national planning policies and guidance.
  • Other ad hoc duties that the Company may require from time to time

Requirements

  • Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field.
  • Hands on knowledge of the Irish planning system
  • Research skills together with an in-depth knowledge of planning processes.
  • Analytical ability to understand and interpret data for a range of audiences
  • Someone who shares our vision for sustainable, socially-equitable, economically-viable design
  • Good communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong organization skills, including the ability to coordinate and manage internal and external teams, on multiple projects at once.
  • Proficient across the full MS Office suite
