Overview:
We have a client that requires an Infrastructure Technician for a 1 year contract role. The Infrastructure Technician will report to the Infrastructure and Security Manager. The Infrastructure Technician needs to a have a broad skill set to support the technologies to deliver these services. The Infrastructure Technician will be responsible for leading upgrades and implementation of new technologies to the client's ICT Infrastructure. The operational support of ICT Infrastructure is also required, and the Infrastructure Technician is required to manage Infrastructure incidents to resolution.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Incident/ Outage investigation and resolution.
- Regular operational infrastructure maintenance activities.
- Provide cover for the infrastructure manager in his absence.
- Provide advice and guidance to Service Desk team as and when required.
- Work with the client's ICT subcontractors/third parties to ensure their adherence to their ICT standards and protocols.
- Deliver new ICT Infrastructure solutions and upgrade existing solutions as required.
Desired Skills/ Experience Required:
- Experience implementing and support WSUS for a hosting environment with over 300 servers.
- Experience implementing, upgrading and supporting Active Directory Environment with over 600 user accounts including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Authority.
- Experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting backup solutions including BackupExec and Veeam.
- Experience with vmWare vCentre 6.7 management and incident resolution and deep experience of recent versions of MS Windows Server and Linux.
- Experience in branch office Cisco network support and upgrades.
- Experience configuring and support of PaloAlto VPN to enable remote working for over 300 users.
- Experience configuring and support Endpoint antivirus, Symantec Endpoint Protection.
- Must have experience configuring and supporting on-premise MS exchange, SharePoint and O365.
