As a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) for Tigera, you will be the technical subject matter expert for the marketing and sales teams. The TME must have the ability to clearly articulate the technical differentiators of a product and also work with the product management, solution architect and sales engineering teams to position the products correctly. In this role, you will reinforce the technical value proposition with hands-on product demos, technical collateral, and blogs. The role involves the ownership and project management of technical marketing initiatives and close collaboration with others in marketing, developer relations, sales, sales engineering, product management, and engineering.

The position is an excellent opportunity at a hot cyber-security start-up, and is based out of our San Francisco; San Jose; Vancouver BC; or Cork, Ireland offices. Strong experience in technical product marketing or sales engineering within enterprise software is critical.

We are seeking an innovative technical marketing engineer to support our marketing initiatives. You will be contributing your technical expertise to the development of our marketing materials, assist with marketing campaigns and launches, and provide sales staff and clients with technical support. In addition, you will:

• Create design guides, solution reference architecture, technical how-to guides, technical white papers, presentations, videos, and demonstrations for our Tigera’s platform and solutions, including Calico
• Align Kubernetes security and observability trends with Calico products technical capabilities to support technical product positioning and messaging for critical use cases
• Evangelize and demonstrate the value of Calico products to prospects, analysts, prospects, and customersthrough how-to content, webinars, demos, videos, and events
• Build demo scripts, demos, and maintain a demonstration environment for our security and observability platform
• Support product launch activities and assist with trade shows, conferences, and technical sales training or channel partner training activities
• Respond to customer or field inquiries, assist with technical RFPs and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, SEs, and/or engineers as required
• Design and deliver technical content to support the online buyer journey through product messaging, third-party validation, explainer videos, demos, and tutorials
• Build technical product presentations, whitepapers, product guides, product videos, technical briefs, and other tools to enable sales teams to sell the Tigera story effectively
• Work with the competitive team for the product and feature comparison, and build technical content to support it

• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in technical marketing engineering, product management, or solutions engineering in enterprise software
• 2+ years of DevOps/security/networking industry and/or practitioner (SRE, developer, software engineering, platform engineering, CloudSecOps) experiencepreferably with hands-on experience using IT technologies
• Experience with Rancher, VMWare Tanzu, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure (certification is preferred)
• Strong preference for applicants with experience handling and supporting cloud infrastructure, containers/Kubernetes, serverless functions, microservices, and security
• A passion for developing persuasive content and a knack for using new software toolsfrom video screen-capture and editing to collaboration software and more
• Passionate about ground-breaking technology, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative software company
