The Director of International role provides leadership, direction and oversight of Trócaire’s international work, which includes all country operations across development and humanitarian disciplines, ensuring alignment to organisational strategy. The role is responsible for the delivery, funding, impact and effectiveness of the Trócaire programme overseas, and for accountability to key stakeholders.
The role involves responsibility for a number of disciplines and for managing teams of professionals in those disciplines as well as managing significant and strategic relationships at many levels within and outside the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional individual to lead implementation and oversight of Trócaire’s new strategy across development and humanitarian programmes in c. 20 countries. The role will be offered on a contract of indefinite duration.
The role is responsible for both the strategic and operational management of a large and complex portfolio, with country teams and units across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and HQ in Maynooth, Ireland. This role is responsible for the overall cohesion and effectiveness of the Trócaire programme of work overseas and for its alignment to the new Trócaire Strategic Plan.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the role will share collective responsibility with other ELT members for delivering Trócaire’s strategy and vision.
The role will require an individual who is a highly motivating and strategic leader with experience of developing and implementing programmes globally.
