LiveTutor.io is hiring experienced online tutors to deliver high-quality English, Mathematics and Science lessons to learners in Ireland. Tutors will work with students of varied ages and levels using LiveTutor's online platform and resources, collaborating with curriculum designers and operations to enhance learner outcomes and engagement. This is a remote role based in Dublin (work-from-home) with occasional coordination meetings across teams.
Key responsibilities
LiveTutor.io is hiring experienced online tutors to deliver high-quality English, Mathematics and Science lessons to learners in Ireland. Tutors will work with students of varied ages and levels using LiveTutor's online platform and resources, collaborating with curriculum designers and operations to enhance learner outcomes and engagement. This is a remote role based in Dublin (work-from-home) with occasional coordination meetings across teams.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group online lessons in English, Mathematics or Science following provided curriculum and lesson plans.
- Create clear, engaging explanations, worked examples and formative assessments to measure progress.
- Adapt teaching strategies to students’ levels, learning needs and goals; provide actionable feedback and learning plans.
- Prepare lesson materials, assignments and progress reports; upload resources and records to the platform after each session.
- Coordinate with content and product teams to report curriculum gaps, student needs and platform feature suggestions.
- Maintain punctuality and professional conduct for scheduled sessions.
What we’re looking for
Must-have skills
- Subject expertise: strong knowledge of English language (grammar, reading, pronunciation), Mathematics (up to secondary level/algebra, geometry, calculus fundamentals) or one or more Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) depending on the vacancy.
- Online teaching experience: minimum 1–2 years delivering remote lessons, comfortable with one-to-one and small-group formats.
- Digital literacy: proficient with video conferencing, virtual whiteboards, lesson recording, and LMS tools; able to troubleshoot common connectivity/AV issues.
- Communication: clear spoken English, strong explanatory and questioning skills, and ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Planning and assessment: lesson planning, formative assessment design, tracking student progress and producing concise reports.
- Classroom management online: maintaining engagement, pacing lessons effectively and managing interactions in small groups.
- Soft skills: patience, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, time management and reliability for scheduled sessions.
