The Business Data Analyst is a key role supporting the Chief Strategy Officer in driving the company's strategic objectives. This position requires a unique blend of analytical, technical, and communication skills to analyse and report on data across various departments including HR, Lamp;OD, Safety, Sustainability, Site Access, Internal Communications, and Corporate Development. The successful candidate will use data insights to inform strategy, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance the overall performance of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyse, and interpret data across various business units. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support strategic decision-making.
  • Strategic Support: Work closely with the CSO to identify business opportunities and challenges. Provide data-driven insights to inform strategic planning and initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies across the organization. Use data to support recommendations and track the impact of implemented changes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with HR, Lamp;OD, Safety, Sustainability, Access and other departments to gather data and understand their analytical needs. Support these areas with relevant data insights and analysis for decision-making and reporting purposes.
  • Benchmarking: Analyse market trends and internal performance data to identify opportunities for growth and areas for operational improvement.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a related role.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and statistical software.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and functions.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in using Excel for complex data analysis
    • SQL Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL for querying databases, extracting large datasets, and performing data manipulation and analysis.
    • Data Management: Experience with database management and data warehousing principles, including data cleaning, data integration, and ensuring data quality and accuracy.
    • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and integrity of data analysis and reports.
