Purpose of the Role
Manage European-funded projects working in partnership with EU colleagues and the AONTAS Team.
Key responsibilities
Project Management
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, and reporting of EU projects
- Attend international project meetings
- Lead the Project Advisory Group for the New European Agenda for Adult Learning
- Participate in relevant European Commission meetings regarding the roles andresponsibilities of the National Co-ordinator of the New European Agenda for Adult Learning
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure delivery of results of EU-funded projects
Relationship Building
- Communicate effectively, with all project partners and relevant stakeholders regarding the NEAAL project/other EU funded projects with the Head of Advocacy and CEO
- Build strong relationships with EU partners and key stakeholders
- Identify and nurture new collaborative relationships with stakeholders in the adult and community education field at national and international level
Communications and Promotion
- Promote the New European Agenda programme and other EU projects nationally
- Ensure all projects are consistently promoted on AONTAS social media
- Ensure the AONTAS team have information and a clear understanding of AONTAS EU projects
Requirements
Core Requirements
- Educated to Degree level (with preference for education studies or social science)
- Proven experience directly managing non-governmental programmes or projects e.g., EU funded projects
- Strong project management, organisational and administrative skills
- Proven ability to meet targets and work to deadlines
- Strong written and presentation skills
- Highly proficient in English, additional European Languages desirable
Preferred Experience
- Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders, including policymakers and civil servants
- Understanding of EU policy
- Management of EU projects
- Relevant experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships
- Working knowledge of the adult and community education /further education and training sector
- Strong report writing
- Strong I.T. skills including Microsoft packages
