About us:

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance (PAM) Ireland Ltd is Ryanair’s first heavy maintenance facility in Ireland. Established in summer 2022 the company supports the maintenance of Ryanair's growing Boeing 737 NG and MAX fleet and is located in a 3-bay hangar in Shannon, Co. Clare. The facility employs highly skilled aircraft engineers, mechanics, and support staff.

The Opportunity:

PAM Ireland Ltd. is currently recruiting a Base Maintenance Manager to join our leadership team. Based in Shannon, Co. Clare this is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team as we continue to grow and develop our maintenance facility.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Form 4 post holder PAM Ireland for EASA and UK CAA Part 145 approvals. Ensure that all aircraft maintenance is carried out in accordance with EASA and UK CAA standards.
  • Ensuring that all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Regulatory Authorities, the Company MOE and the organisation’s procedures and standards.
  • Ensuring the quality of workmanship in the final product is to the standard acceptable to the organisation and EASA.
  • Promote the development a high-performance organisation by supporting talent acquisition, talent development, performance management and succession planning. Provide leadership to all employees, upholding the company's values in all aspects of work.
  • Ensuring the competency of all personnel engaged in maintenance by establishing a programme of training and continuation training using:
  • Ø Internal and external sources, On-the-job instruction and evaluation, examination/testing as required, and:

    Ø Ensuring that all sub-contract orders are correctly detailed and that the requirements of the contract/order are fulfilled in respect of inspection and Quality control

  • Responsible for providing feedback to the Quality System about the services provided by contracted organisations and subcontractors.
  • Respond to quality deficiencies arising from independent quality audits in your area of responsibility.
  • Promote, implement, and adopt best practice in all Company policies, procedures and standards in the areas of Quality, Safety, Human Factors and Human Resources.
  • Liaison and negotiation with suppliers and customers on component movement and utilisation
  • Liaison with AOC Operators in respect of planning scheduled maintenance and the rectification of defects.
  • Assessing the performance of personnel against experience, qualifications, and training to ensure that they are sufficient for the tasks undertaken, and to liaise with the General Manager and Quality Manager (at their respective site) on training needs.
  • Develop a production planning system appropriate to the amount and complexity of the maintenance scope of work conducted at their respective site and ensure availability of facilities, working environment, tooling, equipment and materials, personnel and maintenance data.
  • With specific reference to the maintenance organisation’s PART-145 approval the Base Maintenance Manager is responsible for the following at their respective site:
  • Ø The incoming inspection of components, parts, materials, tools and equipment, the related classification, segregation, and storage according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

    Ø The control of stores, spares and tools used from the operator,

    Ø Keeping a record of all training and experience of maintenance-related personnel.

    Ø Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in maintenance and establishing programmes of initial and continuation training.

    Ø Ensuring the serviceability and calibration of tools and equipment is satisfactorily maintained.

    Ø Ensuring compliance with PART-145 requirements for the storage of parts, tools, equipment, and materials, and for ensuring that such parts, tools, equipment, and materials are obtained.

    Ø Preparing and keeping updated Maintenance Administrative Procedures for use within the company in support of the MOE.

    Ø Be responsible for the follow up of SDR/MER and occurrence reports. Liaison with their respective sites Quality department and customer to ensure adequate feedback and education is provided to prevent future issues and improve overall standards.

    Ø Provide technical briefing / instruction as required to ensure all staff are aware of changes in procedure / approach.

    Ø On-going review of technical standards and methods to implement changes for efficiency, improvement, and safety.

    Ø Support off-base incident management in the event of accident/AOG at operator’s request.

    Ø Review, update and develop company technical procedures to enable the highest standards of safety, airworthiness and awareness are achieved and maintained support of the MOE. <
