You will be responsible for all aspects of client accounting for a selection of clients:
- Coordination and review of client reconciliations (client budget v cost incurred)
- Production of monthly management accounts ensuring revenue recognition is in line with ASC 606, investigating variances amp; reporting monthly results to business partners
- Review account performance with relevant business and commercial partners providing insights and analysis to help improve account performance.
- Ownership of balance sheet and project ledger reconciliations for your account portfolio
- Delivering the internal plan, quarterly and adhoc forecasts in partnership with Client Service Directors (CSD)
- Ownership of invoicing process for client activity. Monthly review with business partners of outstanding debt amp; unbilled production. Driving actions to ensuring optimum levels of working capital are achieved.
- Attend monthly commercial meetings with Client Service Managers (CSM’s) amp; CSD’s and help support and drive improved commercial performance.
- General business partnering, adhoc analysis amp; supporting business projects/initiatives
- Ensuring all costs are budgeted amp; charged appropriately thereby protecting CPM profitability
- Undertaking analysis and reporting of accounting information for business units, helping the operational manager amp; client director understand their cost base. Look for areas of improved profitability through cost reduction or better pricing.
- Reviewing forecast consistency of financial data driven by business assumptions and rate cards.
- Working closely with non-financial personnel to improve their understanding of the drivers of CPM’s Pamp;L and identify / deliver initiatives around profitability.
- Ensure accounting entries amp; transactions adhere to the CPM control and compliance framework.
- All work must be completed accurately / to deadline.
Requirements
- At least two years relevant experience of working in a financial environment.
- Passed Part 1 of a relevant professional qualification e.g. CIMA or ACCA, or have exemptions from part 1 through another accounting qualification obtained by examination, e.g. AAT.
- Ability to manage own resources: good at planning and maintaining own workload, working to tight deadlines, able to determine relevant upward referral of issues, producing high quality, accurate work and able to show relevant initiative.
- PC literate with highly developed Excel skills and intermediate Office skills. Experience of PeopleSoft, Cognos and Planning Analytics are an advantage.
- Good communication skills the ability to listen and interpret requests accurately, draw out information from non-financially based employees, presenting clearly on accounting issues relevant to the role either orally or in writing.
- Working to extremely tight deadlines at month end
- Contact with the client service team, internal and external suppliers is a daily job requirement.
