About us:

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance (PAM) Ireland Ltd is Ryanair’s first heavy maintenance facility in Ireland. Established in May 2022 the company supports the maintenance of Ryanair's growing Boeing 737 NG and MAX fleet and is located in a 3-bay hangar in Shannon, Co. Clare. The facility employs highly skilled aircraft engineers, mechanics, and support staff.

The Opportunity:

PAM Ireland Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Health amp; Safety Officer/Graduate on an initial 12-month contract in our facility in Shannon. Reporting to the site EHS Advisor the successful candidate will join a team join a team of highly skilled staff, with an essential part to play in safely maintaining a fleet of over 450 aircraft for one of the world’s largest and most successful airlines.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the EHS Advisor with daily/weekly health and safety tasks and the provision of a quality EHS service.
  • Participate in EHS projects for the Shannon site and the wider PAM Group.
  • Support the Group EHS risk assessment programme in conjunction with the EHS team and leadership, agreeing and managing prioritised EHS programmes/campaigns to reduce risks.
  • Assist with the investigation of EHS accidents/incidents.
  • Promote continuous improvement in all EHS topics across the business and work with teams to strive for a best in industry standard.
  • Support the operations function with Risk Assessments/Method Statements.
  • Participate in the Internal auditing of activities related to company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all services/products are delivered/produced to the required practices and standards.
  • Provide technical support in the identification of non-compliances/deviations from the Safety Management System.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation.
  • Participate in the company’s Health and Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate third-party team training and deliver inhouse toolbox talk training where appropriate.
  • Participate in the development of EHS Policies and Procedures.
  • Generate KPI reports as required.
  • Ensuring documentation is completed and maintained in line with organisation procedures.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Third-level qualification in Science, Engineering, Health amp; Safety or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety regulations is essential.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Word/Excel and Smartsheets along with the ability to analyse and report on data.
  • A team player with a flexible, positive attitude towards work.
  • Strong organisational and investigative skills.


This role is Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. Occasional travel to other bases may be required.
