About us:

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance (PAM) Ireland Ltd is Ryanair’s first heavy maintenance facility in Ireland. Established in May 2022 the company supports the maintenance of Ryanair's growing Boeing 737 NG and MAX fleet and is located in a 3-bay hangar in Shannon, Co. Clare. The facility employs highly skilled aircraft engineers, mechanics, and support staff.

The Opportunity:

PAM Ire Ltd. is currently recruiting a Hangar Leader/Supervisor to join our leadership team. This is a new position in Shannon which reports to the Base Maintenance Manager and is responsible for a team of Check Supervisors.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Base Maintenance Manager with day-to-day operation of the hangar, maintaining ongoing communication with managers, employees and vendors.
  • Lead and support a team of Check Supervisors to ensure a high standard of workmanship is achieved across the maintenance facility.
  • Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory Authorities, the company MOE, Procedures and individual Personal Authorisation Certificates.
  • Ensuring aircraft documentation is completed and certified in accordance with the MOE and company procedures.
  • Arranging and managing aircraft Pre-Check input meetings to ensure that there are adequate resources available to meet the customer’s requirements, and to keep the Base Maintenance Manager fully informed especially if there are any shortfalls.
  • Ensuring that company Health and Safety Policy and safe working practices are followed by employees on their team and that a safe and clean working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure all HR Policies amp; Procedures and company regulations are followed by employees on their team at all times.
  • Maintaining the effective utilization of the staff under their control and the completion of allocated tasks within the agreed target dates.
  • Control of the aircraft spares shortage list and the authorisation of orders being placed for high cost spare parts.
  • Endeavour to improve the efficiency of the staff under their control and to implement effective measures to reduce man hour costs.
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s procedures and standards are complied with when carrying out maintenance.
  • Ensuring that Tooling and Ground Support equipment is controlled and maintained to a serviceable condition.
  • Responding to Quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which they are responsible, which arise from independent quality audits.
  • Conduct Certifying and Support staff activities (if applicable) within the scope of their approval as required and directed by the Base Maintenance Manager.


This role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Candidates must have unrestricted permission to work in Ireland.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 8 10 years aircraft maintenance experience, preferably hangar based.
  • Engineering degree and/or very strong technical background with a proven record of problem solving and results.
  • EASA category C license.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years proven leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as people management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to set objectives and prioritise workloads for yourself and others.
  • Competent in critical thinking.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health amp; Safety and HR processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite and an aptitude for IT systems.
